Amy Steve, LISW

Life’s journey can create many experiences that lead us through paths of adventure and also challenge. When we are faced with difficulties and hardships in life, the road can often leave us feeling isolated, lonely, ashamed, weak, unloved, and even broken.

Hello! My name is Amy Steve. I am a licensed Independent Social Worker, but more importantly, I am a mental health therapist and individual that is compassionate and cares deeply about helping children, adolescents, and adults overcome the roadblocks that they may face on their journey through life.

In practice, I approach each person with acceptance, authenticity, and a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to share your story. I believe that each person is unique, so that is why therapeutic treatment will be individually tailored to meet your specific needs.

I have experience working with a variety of individuals to address a wide range of emotional and behavioral concerns. Special interests include the treatment of anxiety, depression/mood disorders, ADHD, children with emotional-behavioral issues, anger management, life transitions, relationship issues, self-esteem, trauma, stress management, and grief/loss issues.

I utilize person centered, strengths based, and solution focused approaches through integrating a variety of therapy techniques that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Play Therapy, Expressive Art Therapy, and Mindfulness.

I appreciate being a witness to and a part of your journey towards growth and healing.

Hi, I’m Beth Garza. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I returned to Eastern Iowa after living in many locations for more than 25 years as a military spouse. This has given me a diverse perspective on culture, the human condition, and what makes us unique as individuals.

Special interests include the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, moral injury, mood disorders, life transitions, grief/loss, self-esteem, and relationship issues. I work with an integrative, holistic, and strengths-based approach including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma informed Care, and Humanistic Therapy.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client. In practice I use warm, direct, and authentic communication. I empower clients to identify and accomplish goals, while utilizing their strengths for change.
